THEME: GINGERBREAD CATHEDRALS OF FAITH
Calling all Gingerbread aficionados! Whether you’re a local bakery, a professional chef, a skilled culinary student, or the maestro of your own home kitchen, this opportunity is for you!
The Naples Festival of Trees and Christmas Market will launch the 1st Annual Gingerbread Cathedral Competition on November 15th at our event taking place from 2-8pm at the Salvation Army Chapel, 3180 Estey Ave, Naples, FL 34104.
This is an exceptional **FREE** opportunity to gain exposure for your business, raise money, or alternatively, donate your award winnings to a Christian mission of your own designation.
Participation in the Gingerbread Cathedral Competition provides you with excellent local market exposure with the estimated 3,500 event attendees and 6,500+ online event followers, where your creation will be featured and applauded!
Post-event, organizers of the Naples Festival of Trees will recognize award winners and sponsors with a press release and other announcements on our website and social media.
Year-round, we will showcase the winner's creation on our website, hyperlinking to your business’s website as well.
Donate packaged sweet treats and signature holiday desserts from your business or commercial kitchen; enclose a card or note about your business.
We’ll raise more money for missions by selling them in the onsite Sweets Shop, giving your business one more avenue for exposure.
Here's how it all works:
STEP 1: REGISTRATION
Local bakeries, pastry shops, private chefs and bakers of all kinds can register to compete online.
Want to make more than one cathedral? No problem! Just submit the form again for each new cathedral you wish to enter.
Good news! For this, our first, inaugural year, there is no fee to enter the competition!
STEP 2: CATHEDRAL CREATION
Make your Gingerbread Cathedral creation in the days leading up to November 15.
Each gingerbread creation must be designed and constructed as a place of Christian worship, such as a replica church, chapel, cathedral, Biblical site, etc.
Non-edible ingredients for the final creation is A-Okay!
2 ft. x 2ft size recommended; other sizes allowed by special request
Take pictures of your creation, and email them to us at NaplesFestivalofTrees@gmail.com --- we’ll promote your business and creation on social media to our 6,500+ followers, driving more traffic and visibility to you!
STEP 3: CATHEDRAL DELIVERY
Bring your Gingerbread Cathedral to be displayed at the Festival during our preparation hours:
November 13 (9 a.m. - 7 p.m.) or
November 14 (9 a.m. to 12 noon)
Your cathedral will be displayed in a visible, secure area for event attendees to view – and vote for! A placard describing the inspiration for your cathedral and your business will also be visible.
STEP 4: VOTE
Event attendees will vote with money (cash, loose change, small bills) for the Cathedral(s) they like the most. Each cathedral will have a secure “Vote with Cash” money collection kiosk displayed next to it.
STEP 5: AWARD
Voting will close at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 15th, at which time Festival organizers will count the Vote-With-Cash collections. The Cathedral that has collected the most cash donations will be announced in the Tree Hall at 7 p.m. 1st, 2nd and 3rd places will be awarded.
STEP 6: AWARD COLLECTION
The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will receive 50% of their cash value of votes, with the remaining 50% and all non-winning proceeds going to the Festival’s missions. Winners may opt to keep their winnings for their business, or can donate them to a Christian mission or charity of their designation.
